Disaster Management Seminar
Municipality of Malabuyoc
Cebu Province

I was in Malabuyoc for the First aid seminar which was conducted by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD). This was the first time I have visited the place and it was really a great experience. The Mayor of the town attended the seminar along with the municipal councilors, department heads and Baranggay Officials as well as representatives from DEPED.

Again it was a very successful event.

The venue of the seminar is the new Municipal Building of the town.

Disaster Management Seminar
Municipality of Tuburan

The Office of Civil Defense conducted a disaster management seminar and I was invited to speak about First aid and CPR.

The Municipal Mayor delivered a speech during the seminar. The Vice Mayor as well as the Municipal Councilors, department heads, barrangay officials and Dep Ed representatives considered the seminar a very successful event.

Basic Lifesaving Solutions goes back to Dipolog for the second time. A group of registered nurses requested us to conduct First aid and Healthcare Provider CPR course. A total of 14 participants joined the training. There would have been other interested people who wanted to joined but can't make it on the said date.

However, it was again another success. The participants enjoyed and learned many things. Many are also interested to take our ACLS course.

I proceeded to San Francisco, Camotes to speak about First aid and other Basic Life Support programs on this day. The Office of Civil Defense has one again invited me to speak about the topic as part of their three day Disaster Management Seminar.

If you have not visited this place, I suggest that you should. It is blessed with great beaches and many other tourist attractions. I have been visiting this place from time to time for lectures as well as for relaxation.

After a positive response from the participants of our Basic Life Support Training, another group of Visayan Electric Company employees were trained by our group on First aid, CPR and AED. A total of 22 participants joined the second batch of trainees.

We had two participants taking our First aid and Pro CPR course in our training center. One participant is a registered nurse and the other one was a lifeguard. Our diving instructor has endorsed our training center to conduct the course for them. (Dated Nov. 13-14, 2009)

The Visayan Electric Company (VECO) had their First aid, CPR and AED training as part of their safety awareness program. We conducted the training at their main office in Banilad, Cebu City. A total of 24 participants joined the program. Another group will be having the same training on our next schedule.

The Larmen De Guia Memorial College had their Emergency Nursing training conducted by our group. More than 50 participants joined the program. The course was conducted for three days and on the third day, a rescue simulation was held at Benito Ebeuen Air Base.

I was in Portofino Beach Resort in Lapu-lapu City to conduct a short lecture on CPR and common emergencies. My participants were employees connected with the Philippine Long Distance Corporation (PLDT) Cebu.

Each participant were able to perform a return demonstration on Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation.

The participant were mostly Baranggay Officials of the different Baranggays in the Municipality as well as Department heads of the local government.

More than 50 participants joined the seminar and it was another successful event.

MUNICIPALITY OF BANTAYAN
FIRST AID AND BASIC LIFE SUPPORT TRAINING


I was invited by the Municipality of Bantayan to conduct First aid and Basic Life Support Training. The participants were Baranggay Officials and representatives from the different Baranggays of the Municipality as well as government employees, representatives from the fire department, police and central school teachers.


The highlight of the training was the rescue simulation wherein the participants responded to a multiple casualty situation and applied what they have learned during the training.

OCTOBER 16, 2009

I was invited by Tayo Yuden Phils. to conduct a Basic Life Support Seminar in their company. More than 40 participants joined the seminar. Topics such as bleeding, wounds, fainting, fractures were discussed.

Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation was the main point of discussion and some participants were able to perform a return demonstration with the CPR manikins.

The seminar was also in line with their Disaster Management Seminar conducted by the Office of Civil Defense.

CHP Caregiving Students
Emergency Care Module



We had another round of First aid and PRO CPR training for CHP caregiving students. The Center for Healthcare Professions is our affiliate training center for their Emergency Care Programs.

More than 30 students participated in the course. The Center For Healthcare Professions is also the assessment center for the TESDA competency exams for caregivers in Cebu City.

The Center is located in AC. Cortes, Mandaue City.

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT TRAINING
ST. PAUL COLLEGE FOUNDATION INC.
Bulacao, Pardo

Our team went to St. Paul College Foundation Incorporated in Bulacao Pardo, Cebu City Branch. We conducted another round of Basic Life Support Training to several students of the school.

The participants were 1st year students from different courses. It was their Human Resources officer who made this program a success.


Mr. Ben Alberio, who is an avid supporter of our group was also there to supervise the seminar together with Mr. Eric Ramos, one of the clinical instructor of the College of Nursing.

The event lasted for the whole day considering that there were more than 200 participants of the seminar who had the chance to perform Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Rescue 44 Surigao City

This has been one of the most exciting trainings that we have conducted so far considering that we conducted our training in Surigao City, together with the personnel of RESCUE 44.


The head officer of Rescue 44 was able to join our First aid and Pro CPR training in Cebu and has invited our group to conduct the program in their area.

More than 50 participants joined the training which was held at the provincial gym. Overall, I would say that the training was very successful considering that the participants appreciated very much the knowledge that they have learned during the course.

The participants were mostly nurses from different hospitals, several safety personnel of some companies, as well as members of the Rescue 44.

Among the highlights of the training was the rescue simulation that were responded to by the participants of the course.

ST. PAUL COLLEGE
Basic Life Support Training
Ramos Branch

Once again our group conducted another round of training to several students of St. Paul College. A total of 78 participants joined the seminar and all of them were able to perform the different procedures on providing lifesaving care.


The morning session was devoted to discussions on common emergencies as well as on the steps of providing Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation. After the the noon break, the students were divided into groups for the bandaging and emergency transportation as well as the return demonstration on CPR.

Another round of First aid and Pro CPR training conducted by our group together with our affiliate, Amdream Review Center.


This training is conducted monthly in the American Dream Review Center area. Of course, we have always maintained our standards in providing and conducting the course.

Special Class September 20, 2009


As I have mentioned earlier, we have already opened our Training Center and have already started training programs within our area. This has allowed us to conduct trainings upon special request as well as for those that are in a hurry to take our training.

Two participants took our First aid and Pro CPR training. One of them is working in Rome, Italy and has requested us to conduct a special course for them considering that she has to go back to her place of work in just a few days.

University of San Carlos PE Faculty -First aid and CPR Training September 18, 2009

The University of San Carlos (USC) Physical Education Department requested our group to conduct First aid and Pro CPR training. We have been invited before to conduct a seminar on Basic Life Support by the same group but this time, the teachers wanted to learn as well as apply the learning.

In view of this, we conducted another round of training. This time, the training was done for the whole day to enable the participants to perform a return demonstration in providing CPR as well as other techniques in lifesaving care.


Each participants took turns in providing Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation as well as providing mouth to mouth resuscitation. Moreover, topics such as wounds, fractures, and other common emergencies were also discussed considering that these problems can happen anytime and will most likely be encountered during the conduct of the Physical Education Program.

We have conducted training in our Training Center. A total of 5 participants joined the training. They are newly registered nurses who once joined our Basic Life Support Seminar and wanted to update their knowledge.

They took our international course on First aid and Pro CPR and all of them were able to pass the our program.

This was the second time that we have conducted the course in our training center despite the fact that we have not fully opened yet. Nevertheless, we take proud with our center considering that it is equipped with the necessary equipments for BLS , ACLS training.

Likewise, it is also equipped with the latest equipment for classroom discussion and presentation.

During our Scuba Diving Lesson, I had the opportunity to train some dive rangers in Barrangay Talima. The personnel are assigned to monitor the place for any illegal activities that might destroy the sanctuary. They are also assigned to assist any person visiting the area to dive and discover the beauty of the sea.

The members of the team were trained on Basic Life Support which includes the basic First aid and CPR. They also did a return demonstration on the application of splints, emergency transportation as well the Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation.

The place has become a haven for divers and those who just want to snorkel to see the beauty of the sea, the corals and the fishes.

With the dive rangers learning First aid and CPR training, I am sure that people will be inclined to go to the place not only because of its beauty but also because they are safe.....

We would like to thank Mam Quene the owner of Talima Resort, her staff as well as Polaris Dive Center for the assistance given during the conduct of the training.

Our group conducted a refresher course on Basic Life Support. It was held in Globe Innove Building, Ayala Business Center Area, Cebu City.

The participants were mostly registered nurses and several employees of the Building. More than 20 participants joined the training and it was really a fun day as well as a great day for learning.


The participants had a review on providing Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation as well as providing rescue breathing. They were also taught on the use of Adjunct Devices including the use of Automated External Defibrillator.

Training Center Lecture

We were able to conduct our first training in our Training Center. A total of 14 participants joined the training. We have not formally opened yet our training center but we are proud indeed that we already have people coming in for training.

We will surely be conducting more training programs in our Training Center in due time.

The training center is equipped with the latest equipment for training. It can accommodate at least 25 participants in one setting with large LCD TV for presentation and surround sound system for better video and lecture experience.

Pilar Camotes


I was again invited by the Office Of Civil Defense to speak about First aid on one of their Disaster Management Seminar. This time the venue was in Pilar Camotes.

The Municipality is on a separate island from Camotes proper. It was the first time that I have set foot on the island and I was really amazed by the sandy white beaches. So and so that I took a picture of the island prior to disembarking from the boat.

My topic was on the first day of the seminar and no less than the beloved mayor of the Municipality graced the seminar with his opening remarks. Participants during the seminar were school teachers, municipal employees, baranggay officials.

After my turn, I immediately boarded a boat so I could get back to the city of Cebu in time for my training the following day.

First aid Pro CPR Training

We will soon be opening our New Training Center in Lapu Lapu City. This is in response to the ever growing number of request and trainings. This new training center area is specially designed to cater not only for our Basic Life Support Courses but also for our ACLS courses. CLICK HERE to view our training center location.

Despite that fact the we have not formally opened yet, two nurses requested us to conduct First aid and Pro CPR training for them considering that they need the completion cards for their application abroad.

We conducted the program at our new training center area for the two of them and it all went well. They were given completion cards from ECSI after completion of the course with corresponding wall certificates approved by the Emergency Care and Safety Institute.

First aid and PRO CPR August 10-12, 2009

Cebu Caregiving Studies and Development Center
First aid and Pro CPR Training


We had another round of First aid and Pro CPR training with caregiving students of Cebu Caregiving Studies and Developlment Center commonly known as CCSDC.

The school has been our affiliate for quite a long time and as always, during the final phase of their Emergency Care Module, our training center conducts the First aid and Pro CPR training for them to acquire the ECSI First aid and Pro CPR completion cards.

A total of 31 students joined the course and it was really fun. The training was scheduled for three days since the last day was devoted for Rescue Simulation where students will respond on a given emergency scenario and apply what they have learned.

Considering that there were 31 students we have divided them into different groups and have created a scenario for each of the group. The students were then graded on their performance.

The last day of the training was held in Portofino Beach Resort in Lapu-lapu City.


Aside from the standard training we have also included fun diving activities through our affiliate instructor Mr. Emi Bonghanoy along with his staff. Considering that the activity was held in the beach, it was really well worth it. Each students were given a lecture on the basics of scuba diving and after such, they were provided with scuba gears for the application. All of the students really enjoyed the program. In fact some of them are planning of taking a scuba diving course later on to obtain a scuba diving license.

The office of Civil Defense conducted a Disaster Management Seminar in San Remegio. A municipality in the south about 3-4 hours bus ride from the Capitol. I am the designated speaker for First aid and Firefighting topics. No less than the mayor of San Remegio grace the affair and of course it was very successful. The participants were mostly Baranggay Officials, Public School Teachers, Municipal Employees and department heads.

Just right after my seminar, I proceeded to the Municipality of Catmon for another speaking engagement. This time my participants were mostly from the Baranggay considering that the seminar was facilitated by the President of the Association of Baranggay Councils (ABC), who also sits in the Municipal Council, Councilor Archie.

The Municipal planning officer as well as other Municipal employees were also there making the program a very succesful one indeed. The members of the Municipa Firefighting Volunteer Team were also there in full force.
